With support from Anthropos Africa, more than fifty San leaders and community representatives from across Botswana gathered in Ghanzi for the **National San Dialogue on Indigenous Rights Reform**, convened by the Botswana Khwedam Council. Over two days of closed deliberations, leaders discussed how San communities wish to engage with government during the country’s ongoing Indigenous rights reform process and agreed on shared priorities and representative structures. In a historic public session, they presented the **Dqae Qare Declaration** directly to senior government officials from multiple ministries, reaffirming that reforms affecting San communities must be developed in partnership with them. The Dialogue represents an important step toward strengthening nationally representative San leadership and advancing collaboration with government on Indigenous rights, including land restitution and broader policy reforms.
